Culture is a huge part of who we are at Neo PR and it’s something we have worked hard on. We’re known for our unique culture with our countryside office, flexible working, flat structure and office dog which is why we are super proud to announce that we have been listed at #6 in Real Business’ Top 25 UK SME Culture Leaders 2018!
The Real Business Culture Leaders list gave SMEs the opportunity to shout about workplace perks and reward schemes that underscore general values, mission and principles of company culture.
Here’s what one of our Directors, Gemma, had to say about our achievement: “I genuinely believe that our employees are our number one asset and we have therefore championed a culture that reflects that. From tailoring our work ethics to meet the demands of Millennials to promoting health and well-being in our daily office lives, we built Neo PR on the fact that our employees matter. So, being recognised as one of the top 25 culture leaders is a really proud moment for us and a sign that the culture we have built really does make a difference. It doesn’t cost the earth to build a great culture, but to your employees, it can be priceless.”
Millennials form the majority of our workforce and we soon realised that they have a different expectation of a work-life balance – they want to work hard and play hard! We gradually implemented different perks which were collaboratively driven by the Director and Management team as well as each individual employee.
Using our feedback system, TinyPulse, we started to see a net benefit from employee morale. Once a month, it asks, ‘How happy are you at work?’ and asks for a rating out of 10. Since implementing this tool, our average has consistently stayed around the 8.5 mark, which is well above the industry average (7.8). It was clear that the measures put in place were making a material difference in staff morale, energy, work rate, and staff retention.
This is all down to a combination of perks such as team socials and flexible working, and softer benefits like our office dog, Graze boxes and wellies! Our management team is also very supportive and they will genuinely go above and beyond to support all employee. We have an open policy when it comes to talking about mental health and is supportive of any employees who may need some time out.
As you can see, we’ve worked really hard to make Neo PR a fantastic place to work for everyone, so to be recognised in this way is a huge achievement for us!
